Gloss is a new deadpan comedy starring Emilio Iannucci, Adrian McLoughlin (The Death of Stalin) and Daniel Adegboyega (Doctor Who).

Written and directed by Jack McInroy, co-host of the acclaimed South London Hardcore podcast (“So good”, The New Statesman), Gloss captures all the crushing disappointments, epic humiliations and tiny triumphs that come with life on the margins.

In this pilot episode, the hapless Dennis finds himself press-ganged into volunteering at his local charity shop, whilst his oafish uncle Brian decides against attending his wife’s funeral when it clashes with the football.

Dry, caustic and slightly off-kilter, Gloss falls somewhere between Atlanta and Steptoe and Son and is every bit as strange and weirdly beautiful as that combination suggests.
